DBDC requests information and collects data from you at various points on our website. You are under no obligation to enter any information on our website, however, in order to participate in some of the services we offer at DBDC, such information collection is necessary. This website also uses data analytics to analyze usage trends, administer the site, track our users’ movements across our site for aggregate use, and for marketing purposes. The data collected from this analytics program does not include Personally Identifiable Information.
Below is a summary of the information we typically collect from you and how it is used. Because we constantly strive to bring new and better services to the community, the list below may not reflect all of the most current service offerings for which information is collected. Volunteers: When you become a volunteer for DBDC, we ask you to provide us certain personal information. We use this information to populate our volunteer database and to contact you in connection with volunteer activities. Volunteers are critical to DBDC’s success.
Donors: When you give a financial donation to DBDC, we ask that you provide us certain personal information. We use outside parties to process our charitable donations made online and offline. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing us with these services. Prior to giving a donation online, you will have an opportunity to review that company’s privacy and security policy.
Information Sharing
DBDC does not sell, share, trade or rent donor or volunteer personal information with any third parties other than for marketing purposes and if compelled by a legal action. This policy applies to all information received by DBDC, both online and offline, on any platform, as well as any electronic, written or oral communications. Although unlikely, DBDC may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personal information about our users. We will provide this information, to the extent technically possible, upon request and receipt of the appropriate documentation. Disclosure may also occur if we consider it necessary to protect our legal rights, or if the information relates to actual or threatened harmful conduct.
DBDC has a short code for opt-in communications via text. Data obtained through the short code program will not be shared with any third-parties for their marketing reasons/purposes.
No mobile phone information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All opt-in and mobile consent data will not be shared with any third parties.
Ability to Correct Your Information/Unsubscribe
DBDC stores the information you provide upon registration at our site and for our various services in databases. If your information changes (such as your e-mail address or zip code), or if you no longer desire to receive our electronic communications, you can use the “unsubscribe” link provided in each email or contact [email protected] to change your information or remove yourself from our mailing list.
Privacy of Children
DBDC does not knowingly solicit data from or knowingly market to children under the age of 13.

DBDC operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewalls and password protection systems. Any particularly sensitive information, such as a donor’s credit card number collected for a commerce transaction, is also encrypted prior to transmission. Although DBDC operates secure data networks, no Internet transmission can be guaranteed 100% secure. While we take precautions to protect your data, you use this site and its services at your own risk. Furthermore, the DBDC web site may contain links to other web sites. DBDC is not responsible for, nor can DBDC ensure the privacy practices or content of such other sites.
